Shots from Shanghai. #Holga #Lomo #ArtPhoto #WallArt

The Scanning is finally over! Just as a reminder, all of the photos were taken using my old plastic Holga and the films used were Agfacolor Otima 100 and Fujichrome 100D. Both sets of films were crossed processed, just for fun.

Excited to see how the Shanghai shots came out and I think rather well, I particularly like the one’s of the policemen – it was as if they were tourists, very surreal seeing them posing for pics! Think they must have been visiting from another town or somthing. I think all of the photos will make for some fun pieces of canvas art and all pieces would look great on any wall. Check back for canvas art and print options later.

I’ve also developed the other photos from London including the shots of the “apparent” Banksy, which I’m particularly keen on. I will add them on here soon and prints will be available to purchase for all of you fellow Street Art enthusiasts, look out for more information in due course.

As always, let me know what you think via my Twitter @WeAreCraftyUK available on top right of the page and also the share button.

I’ll let you know when prints and canvas art become available.

Until then..

The Scanner Works! #Holga #Artphoto #photography #Lomo

So, today I took my laptop to some IT folk at the day job and they took my optical drive out, put it back in and low and behold the old disc drive kicked back into life! Not only that, the kind hearted IT folk gave me temporary admin rights so I could install my scanner, result! I really need to invest in a new personal laptop!

So off I went home and installed it quickly before heading to a meeting in the afternoon and have now began to scan some of the negatives that have been sat in the draw for the last few weeks! Am I pleased with the results? Yes I am! The Shanghai skyline ones have come out well and I rather like some of the ones from London and the random roll turned out to be from a rather alcohol fuelled Christmas Party – no wonder I didn’t recognise them from the negatives!

So some of the results are below, let me know what you think via my Twitter @WeAreCraftyUK and I’ll be offering some of the better ones for works of canvas are, prints and framed photo prints.

I’ll post some more when I get a chance to scan some more, for now though, the sun’s still shining, the BBQ is on and it must be beer o’clock.

Cheers everyone!

Until next time..

Still no scanner!! #artphoto #canvasart #fail !

So I’ve still  not got the scanner hooked up! very frustrating!

I’ve only got a works laptop at the moment since mine got the blue screen of death and this one can only have things installed on it by the folks in the IT department, #frustrating ! To top it off the laptop has somehow lost its optimal drive so I can’t put discs in it! So I’m off to the IT HQ on Friday morning where they are going to sort out the disc drive and then hopefully install the scanner meaning I might finally be able to scan my negatives, which still look great against the light! So anyway, we hope to be scanning next week and will have lots more photos to offer for #photo #prints, #canvas #art and other pieces of photo art.

On another note, we’ve been tasked with creating some wedding invitations, which is rather exciting. It’s a whole new world for us and we’re learning embossing techniques and other exciting crafty techniques, very exciting! Once these are finished I shall post some photos on here and we hope to roll out the service in the future for everyone. Any enquiries drop us an email at wearecraftyuk@gmail.com

Until next time..

Negatives have arrived! #photoart

The Negatives have finally arrived! I arrived home late last night to find a cardboard envelope with my name on it, I knew it was them! I carefully pealed away thetape holding it together, reached into the gap and gently pulled out the sleeves that contained them, all the while being careful not to bend them too much. I hold them up to the bulb lighting the room and take a gasp of breath, they look great! Very pleased with them, the #Shanghai snaps look like they have come out well and you remember I told you about a random film, well from what I can tell it looks like it’s from a random night out, should be some interesting shots!

Bad news though, I’m working off a borrowed laptop as mine died and it wont let me hook up my scanner #Fail! So I’m currently sourcing a new laptop – anyone want to donate one just drop me a #Tweet!

So until I get hold of one there is going to be a delay in the availability of the snaps to be made into #canvas art, framed photo prints and anything else, which is frustrating. All I can do for now is hold them up to the light and wonder what might become of them, *sigh*

Until next time people..

No Negatives! #photo art #canvasart can’t happen without negatives!

So, I’m at home all day yesterday, eagerly waiting in anticipation of the sound of the postman pushing my negatives through the letter box but alas it wasn’t to be! Canvas art and framed photo prints are going to have to wait longer! Fingers crossed when I arrive home this evening they will be waiting on the floor by the door for me, all wrapped up in cardboard ready and waiting to see the light of day. Will report back later to see.

In other news, I’m off camping in the Lake District this weekend, should be a great opportunity to crack the Holga open and take some photos, with a keen eye on future canvas art and framed photo opportunities it should be cracking. Bad news though as I’ve just checked the weather forecast and it’s due to rain.. all weekend.. Marvellous! #Fail!

I’ll catch up with you later, until then..

Weekend #photos

So my gorgeous girlfriend came to stay for the weekend and we decided to take a wander around the lovely Thames side town of Marlow which isn’t too far away. The weather was splendid, the birds were singing and the ice cream vans were out in force! I took my #Holga out with me and I think I took some good shots, we’ll soon see, such is the joy of analogue photography!

I should hopefully get the negatives back in the post tomorrow and I will see how they turned out. Also, amongst the negatives that should arrive tomorrow are the shots from Shangahi so looking forward to seeing how they turned out and see if any of them will be suitable for some #canvas #art and #framed #prints.  There were also some random film rolls that have been sat in my office for a while and I’ve no idea what’s on them so something to look forward to there.

I’ll update you tomorrow when the postman arrives, until then.

I’m Back!

So Shanghai, what a place!! Didn’t get much sleep and knackered now!

I jetted off with clients on Friday night, landed Saturday morning and spent the day eating amazing food, shopping and dancing at this mint night club, aptly called M1NT! Great night with not much sleep.

Sunday we got up, tired and weiry and headed to the Huanpu River to board a river cruise ride, lovely way to clear the head! Headed then up the Shanghai World Finance Center which is the tallest building in China and has an amazing view from the 100 floor, was a bit nerv racking though as it swayed gently in the wind.

Lovely dinner and an early night and then back on a plane on Monday morning back to the UK, a real flying visit!

Thankfully I remembered to pack the Holga and I’m hopeful I got some good shots, we shall wait and see. The films go off to get processed tomorrow, looking forward to getting them back and if any are any good, you’ll soon find them on www.WeAreCraftyUK.com

Until next time..
